Salmon Education Foundation began as The Salmon Public School Foundation in 1989. The original purposes of the foundation were:
- To solicit and/or receive gifts, bequests and devises or otherwise, monies and property, real and personal, of whatsoever kind or nature, to be held, managed, and used exclusively for the benefit of the Salmon School District No. 291, its various vocational and educational programs and its various services
- To promote excellence and any other purpose authorized for non-profit corporations by the Idaho Code.
The name was subsequently changed to Salmon Education Foundation, but the purposes remain essentially the same. Over the years, the foundation has received numerous bequests and gifts that have been used to benefit students in School District 291.
Recently, the foundation has been instrumental in expanding playgrounds at both the pre-school and the elementary school. In addition, Salmon Education Foundation served as General Contractor for the Nep and Mary Ellen Lynch Center.
Salmon Education Foundation seeks to ensure quality educational opportunities for every student in the Salmon School District.
We are a 501 C3 corporation.

In Remembrance
Bill Allen was a member of the Salmon Education Foundation almost since its inception. Sadly, Bill passed away on June 30, 2023. Bill served as president of the foundation for many years. His knowledge of all of the various funds, scholarships, and past and current activities of the Foundation is invaluable. Bill is sorely missed by all SEF Board Members.
